This is the 27th Neel 47 to come out of the factory and I had it built to be able to circumnavigate off the grid and in comfort. I have sailed her from the factory in La Rochelle through the Med, across the Atlantic (winner of the 2021 ARC+) and up the Caribbean to Florida. I was primarily on the hook and only entered the occasional marina for diesel.  Crossing the Atlantic used less than 25 gallons from the Canary Islands to Grenada. The massive Solbian walkable solar array keeps the four Mastervolt Ultra 5500s lithium batteries charged while using all of your electronics just like you're at home.  Run everything at the same time...microwave, induction cooktop, high capacity water maker and air conditioning with the two Mastervolt Mass Combis that are installed. Power is monitored on the Easyview 5, but it is never a worry. The B&G auto pilot is kept on high speed and Halo 20+ radar transmitting throughout the night hardly making a dent in the battery bank.  The air conditioner can run all night long on batteries alone. If the sun isn't shining and you want to top off the batteries, the Integrel system is installed on the Volvo engine which will charge your bank in a very short time. This system is all automatic and has been the most impressive system I have come across.  I made this boat to be all electric except for the diesel engine. No gas for cooking and no gasoline for the dinghy as it has electric Torqueedo propulsion. There are no electric restrictions. It has the advantages of being wired with 220/50hz, but has an additional inverter and outlets for 110/60hz appliances. Two shore power receptacles ensure you can plug in overseas and at home accepting both 50 and 60 hz. Other electronic upgrades include the Cortex Vesper VHF with AIS and its own plotter, B&G forward scan, and a Quick chain counter and control along with two electric winches at the helm.

The boat is fast and sails like a dream. I often sailed single handed which is a breeze on the Neel. The carbon mast is a must for added comfort and speed. I reached 23 knots flying the large Parasailor and it was completely stable and comfortable. One of my favorite features in the layout is the stateroom on the main level with its 270 degree view. This Neel is one to look at if you want a boat that will get you where you are going at good speed and is easy, safe and fun to sail.  A perfect boat for long passages or a quick sail around the islands

Why a NEEL Trimaran is FASTER at sea ?

Trimarans are significantly faster than monohulls or catamarans.
The superiority of the trimaran is obvious during upwind sailing, especially due to the rig : on a catamaran, the forestay pulls from the front beam, the mast compresses a central beam and the shrouds pull the two floats supporting the forestay and mast beam: this platform deforms in many directions. Consequently, it is then impossible to have a rigid forestay. On a trimaran, the forestay, mast, and mainsail tension are structurally bonded to one strong, longitudinal beam: the main hull. This configuration, as per a monohull, allows for a rigid forestay and good performance up-wind. Performance is also enhanced by the centered weight.
