1. The Millennium 140
The millennium-140 is widely considered the fastest yacht in the world. Designed by the Dutch naval architect Frank Mulder, it’s basically a palace on the seas. With a 5300 Horsepower diesel engine and 4700 Horsepower turbines, the vessel is capable of travelling at about 70 knots. At full capacity, the Millennium can hold up to 17 passengers.

2. The Foners
Previously named the Fortuna, the boat was custom manufactured for the king of Spain in 2000. Designed by the Izar Yard, the boat runs on a massive 22,600 Horsepower to a top speed of 70 Knots. The boat is powered by twin MAN diesel engines and triple Rolls Royce gas turbines.
The yacht was valued at 10,000,000 EUR and was ultimately sold to Balaeria Eurolineas Maritamas shipyard for 8,000,000 EUR in 2014.
3. The Wallypower 118
This yacht was designed by the world renowned shipyard, Wally, and is a close second to the two fastest yachts in the world mentioned above. The 118 Wallypower works at an astounding 17,000 horsepower with 3 DDC TF50 Gas turbines and 2 auxiliary Cummins turbines. In addition to the engine specification, it is equipped with 3 Kamewa water jets to improve maneuverability and add speed.
The yacht is capable of travelling at a maximum of 65 Knots with the lightest possible loads and can carry up to 12 passengers.
4. The Gentry Eagle
Tom Gentry is a name well known in yacht skipping. The man set multiple records over 3 decades with his sports inspired yacht designs. The Gentry Eagle won him the Blue Riband for crossing the entire Atlantic in an astounding 62 hours and 7 minutes.
The yacht runs on twin 3480 Hp MTU turbo diesel engines and a 4500 Hp turbine to carry it up to a top speed of 63 knots. Although it has long since lost its title as the fastest yacht in the world, sometime around the late 1980’s it held the title with no competition snapping at its heels.
5. The Alamshar
The Alamshar is named after one of Prince Aga Khan’s racehorses. The yacht design is credited to Donald L. Blount and associates. With its 50 meter length, the Alamshar is the longest Super-Yacht to ever be designed.
The vessel is capable of skipping at speeds of 60 to 70 knots with the lightest weight loads. The engine is comprises of 6 Rolls Royce gas turbines and 3 Kamewa water jets. The yacht is valued at over $50 million and is currently docked at Devonport Yard in Plymouth, UK.
6. The Astro
The Astro by Baia Shipyard in Naples is a magnificent specimen of naval design. 31 meters in length, it is propelled by 3 engines creating a force of about 7300 Horsepower.
This model was designed by Carlo Galeazzi who is credited for designing the Aleica 90 and the Azimut 42 super yachts. With a maximum speed of 50 knots, the Astro is one of the moderately fast yachts to be found.
7. Adler II
Designed by Gary Grant and Vector Marine, the Adler II is a 41m long vessel and can cruise at 40 Knots and reach a top speed of 50 Knots. The yacht is powered by two Paxman engines which give it a total horsepower of 10,500 hp.
The model was released in 2005 and is capable of carrying 17 people on board. This particular model makes use of its specialist aerodynamic designs and engine power to reach its high speeds.
8. Sur L’onde 2
The Sur L’onde 2 offers both high performance and luxury to its passengers. With its sophisticated mechanical design and naval architecture, the vessel is easily one of the best yachts in existence. The designs for the boat are credited to Alberto Ascenzi and Carlo Galeazzi.
